KORE Power is excited to welcome a new member to the KORE team, Betty Chan-Massey. Betty comes to us with extensive industry knowledge that expands worldwide. She has worked in the energy industry for over ten years, coming to us from NEC Energy Solutions. She brings a new level of customer support and perspective to our team. Recently, we had a chance to speak with Betty about her previous experiences before joining KORE Power.
Betty, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I have spent eleven years in the energy storage power market with substantial experience in global sales, proposal management, contracting, technical sales engineering, and project management. My recent position was as Sales Director for the channel business at NEC Energy Solutions, a global energy storage system integrator and service provider. I helped build the channel sales business from $0 to over $17 million, in the first fifteen months. Additionally, I developed the channel partner program's strategy and the solutions offerings (system configurations, pricing, warranties). Also, managing strategic key accounts, master supply, and services contract negotiation. Earlier at A123 Systems, I held leading positions in product and project management to develop and deliver the 1st through the 3rd generation energy storage systems and the software control management platform.
Before NEC/A123, I held positions in product management, project management, and engineering in the telecommunication, military, and financial services industries.
What do you love the most about working in energy?
Working in the electric power energy industry for over a decade, I have enjoyed watching how innovative technologies are evolving, such as energy storage and how it plays a critical role in integrating renewables to provide cleaner, and more reliable electricity to support global decarbonization and clean energy goals. Plus, I genuinely enjoy working with people who love what they do.
